Attorney Stephanie Naranjo Joined The Law Offices of James A. Welcome in
February 2020. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a
Bachelor of Arts in English cum laude. She also minored in Women, Gender,
Sexuality studies. While she was there, she was a member of the Honors
Society and the UConn National Women’s Studies Honors Society Triota.
She went on to graduate from New England Law Boston with an immigration
concentration. Attorney Naranjo has always been interested in immigration
and international law and law school allowed me to
explore the field more through projects, joining groups, and internship
opportunities. During law school, Attorney Naranjo became a member of
the Charles Hamilton Houston Enrichment Program Honor Society, Massachusetts
SJC Pro Bono Honor Roll, and New England Law Boston Public Service Honor
Roll. While Attorney Naranjo was in law school she interned at Greater
Boston Legal Service in their Immigration unit. Attorney Naranjo prepared
the client’s claims for asylum, withholding of removal and protection
under the Convention Against Torture. Attorney Naranjo was a legal intern
for New England Law Boston Clinical Law Office where she litigated cases
involving victims of domestic violence in divorce, custody, visitation
and child support hearings. Attorney Naranjo had the opportunity to study
abroad in Santiago, Chile where she interned for the Defensoria Penal
Publica where she collaborated with defense thesis and cases, interviewed
clients, and observed court proceedings. Attorney Naranjo interned with
the Civil Rights Division in the Massachusetts Attorney General’s
Office. She reviewed and responded to civil rights complaints alleging
deprivations of, or interference with, civil rights and civil liberties.
Attorney Naranjo was a legal volunteer for the Dilley Pro Bono Project,
formally known as the CARA Family
Detention Pro Bono Project.Attorney Naranjo believes that the best formula
for law practices are: honesty, personal attention, hard work and ability
to find solutions to the most complex immigration issues is vital. Her
philosophy is to give personal attention to each and every client, no
matter how big or how small the case is. She understands that the immigration
process could be scary and intimidating andAttorney Naranjo strives to
be there for her clients every step of the way.
