Whether it be large swaths of absentee ballots arriving late, as many voters try to avoid the novel coronavirus, the election will be decided in the courts. The race for the White House will be contested by either party, especially in key swing states. Leaving the possibility of several weeks or months of uncertainty on the fate of the country. Election officials have warned that the surge in the mail-in ballots in close pivotal key swing states like Florida and Wisconsin, will need time to process, but the Trump administration will use late ballots as unacceptable or “fraudulent.”

How will Americans’ faith in the United States election system change as both candidates will contest the legitimacy of the election? Threats against the postal service workers’ are enough to instill fear, even if the change isn’t made.

In a separate tweet, he claimed that “MILLIONS OF MAIL-IN BALLOTS WILL BE PRINTED BY FOREIGN COUNTRIES, AND OTHERS. IT WILL BE THE SCANDAL OF OUR TIMES!”
These claims have been contested by various election officials, both Attorney General Barr and President Trump have yet to provide any substantial evidence that mail-in voting will be fraudulent. The electoral crisis that will be in play this fall will undoubtedly overshadow the 2000 election between Gore and Bush.
